On April 12th, 2006, after 18 years of excellent success in the survey market, Carlson Software officially retired SurvCADD, our original AutoCAD-based survey and civil design software. Carlson Software has replaced the original SurvCADD with two new separate products -- Carlson Survey 2007 and Carlson Civil 2007 -- based on evolutions of SurvCADD’s three basic modules: survey, surface and design. Carlson Software timed the announcement for the release of these two new and improved products to closely coincide with the release of AutoCAD 2007, the next generation of CAD design software from Autodesk.
Carlson Survey 2007 is designed for the surveyor while Carlson Civil 2007 is designed for the civil engineer. However, although these products are designed to be used independently, both packages communicate seamlessly with each other.
Carlson Survey 2007 has been designed to run inside AutoCAD 2007. It will also install and work inside AutoCAD 2006, 2005, 2004, 2002 and even 2000. It is so versatile that it also installs and works with the newest and even older versions of AutoCAD Map, Land Desktop and Civil 3D. We’ve even added a new Network Least Squares program called SurvNET.
Carlson Survey 2007 combines the surveyor’s private language of point-based coordinate geometry (or COGO) commands within the AutoCAD drawing environment better than any other survey software in AutoCAD. Using Carlson Survey 2007, surveyors can download and upload to all popular field data collectors, process raw field data, check closures, adjust field data and map by Field-to-Finish using field coding. The surveyor can also input, rotate and translate boundaries, perform lot layouts, calculate and label areas and execute flawless curve data and line work labeling. Surveyors will use the point-based CAD/COGO commands found in Carlson Survey 2007 extensively as these CAD/COGO commands are the essence of the surveyor’s private professional survey language.
Carlson SurvCE , our field data collection software, works together with our office software Carlson Survey 2007 for seamless integration from field to office and back. Carlson SurvCE works with all brands of survey equipment: conventional total stations, robotic total stations, and RTK GPS survey gear. Survey offices and survey departments throughout the US and the world are finding this obvious combination the most productive, straightforward survey solution for their field and office needs.
Carlson Survey 2007 is a complete surveying solution working in AutoCAD, so all the core AutoCAD functionality is present when using Carlson Survey 2007. AutoCAD is the dominant CAD software for surveyors and civil engineers worldwide. Combining AutoCAD’s superior core functionality with Carlson Software’s 18 years of experience writing features for surveyors in AutoCAD, it’s easy to see why Carlson Software has become the most popular AutoCAD-based office survey solution available today.
